Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, announced on social media that the Xiaomi EV factory has opened for public tour reservations.

Interested individuals can now book a visit through the Xiaomi EV App, with fixed visiting hours every Saturday from 14:00 to 17:00. To ensure the quality of the experience, Lei Jun stated that each tour is limited to 20 groups of visitors, with each group consisting of 2~3 people. The announcement has sparked enthusiasm, with over 6,000 people already signing up for the tours.

Lei Jun detailed the process, saying, "We will gradually open the factory for visits in 2025. We will announce the selected participants on the App and notify them by phone."

The Xiaomi EV Super Factory, located in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, covers an area of 718,000 square meters with a construction area of approximately 420,000 square meters. It includes an R&D test base, six workshops specifically designed for new energy vehicles, a 2.5km test track, and a Xiaomi EV factory store, making it an integrated smart manufacturing park for research, production, sales, and experience.

Lei Jun has been a frequent visitor to the factory, even sharing a photo of himself sleeping on the factory floor on November 13 2024, stating, "Netizens urged me to go to the factory to tighten bolts. In fact, I go there often, and I arrived early today. I came too early and dozed off in the workshop for a while." He later admitted in a live broadcast that the photo was staged for amusement.

As of December 31, 2024, Lei Jun revealed during a live broadcast that Xiaomi EV had completed a delivery volume of 135,000 units for the year. He also disclosed that 60% of the initial sales of the Xiaomi SU7 were "angel orders" (customers who placed orders without seeing or testing the car), and 30% of the locked-in customers have yet to test drive the vehicle.

Lei Jun set a target for 2025, aiming for a delivery volume of 300,000 units, noting that surpassing 300,000 units is not an easy benchmark, even for well-established car manufacturers like BYD, which took a decade to achieve this milestone. He also congratulated Ideal, which has surpassed an annual delivery of 500,000 units, as a company worthy of admiration and emulation.

In addition to smartphones and automobiles, Xiaomi's first smart home appliance factory was established in Wuhan. According to Lu Weibing, partner and president of Xiaomi Group, the factory officially broke ground in Wuhan on November 26, 2024.
