September 1st, several leading Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers, including NIO, XPeng, and Li Auto, released their latest delivery figures for August.

  • NIO (HK09866, stock price: HKD 33.60, market cap: HKD 70.124 billion): Delivered 20,176 vehicles in August, marking the fourth consecutive month with over 20,000 deliveries. From January to August 2024, NIO delivered a total of 128,100 vehicles, a 35.77% year-on-year increase. To date, NIO has delivered a cumulative total of 577,694 vehicles.

  • BYD (SZ002594, stock price: CNY 249.42, market cap: CNY 725.6 billion): Sold 373,083 new energy vehicles in August, a 36% year-on-year increase. Sales of all electric passenger vehicles reached 148,470 units.

  • XPeng (HK09868, stock price: HKD 31.85, market cap: HKD 60.424 billion): Delivered 14,036 vehicles in August, a 3% year-on-year increase and a 26% month-on-month increase. From January to August 2024, XPeng delivered a total of 77,209 vehicles, a 17% year-on-year increase.

  • Li Auto (HK02015, stock price: HKD 78.85, market cap: HKD 157.1 billion): Delivered 48,122 vehicles in August, a 37.8% year-on-year increase. From January to August 2024, Li Auto delivered a total of 288,103 vehicles. As of August 31, 2024, Li Auto has delivered a cumulative total of 921,467 vehicles.

  • Xiaomi Auto: Delivered over 10,000 units of the Xiaomi SU7 in August, achieving over 10,000 deliveries for three consecutive months. The company expects to meet its annual delivery target of 100,000 units by November.
