On the evening of March 27, the official WeChat account of Kobayashi Pharmaceutical China issued a statement. It mentioned that Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Japan had announced a voluntary recall of products containing red yeast rice as an ingredient on March 22, 2024.

Kobayashi Pharmaceutical China Limited, acting on behalf of Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and the authorized distributor UNQ Japan Co., Ltd., will actively assist Chinese consumers who have purchased these related products in China with the necessary product recall procedures.

The three recalled products were not officially marketed or sold in the mainland Chinese market. However, some Chinese consumers may have purchased them through overseas cross-border platforms, physical stores abroad, or other channels. In such cases, Kobayashi Pharmaceutical China is committed to providing assistance for product recall.
