At the same time, BYD announced that it plans to invest 5 billion yuan to build the world’s first batch of all-terrain professional racetracks, creating a Chinese car culture in the new energy era.

BYD Group Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu said: “Whole vehicle intelligence is the real intelligence.”

Wang Chuanfu emphasized that BYD started early in the field of intelligence and achieved impressive results. According to reports, BYD’s L2-level intelligent driving load has exceeded 2.6 million units, ranking first in China; in 2023, the load rate of BYD’s smart drive system for sold models exceeded 57%, and this proportion will further increase in 2024.

It is worth noting that BYD teamed up with DJI to create the world’s first vehicle-integrated drone, the first integrated vehicle-level drone library, supporting intelligent storage, automatic power exchange and charging management, truly achieving one-key take-off and landing, with the industry-leading drone sensing chain, achieving high-definition, high-frame-rate, low-latency image transmission, letting the high-altitude scenery accompany you all the way.

According to Red Star News, BYD also announced that it will invest 5 billion yuan to build the world’s first batch of all-terrain professional racetracks.

At the press conference, BYD’s top ten engineers team made their debut, showing BYD’s down-to-earth engineer culture. Today, BYD has more than 90,000 engineers, the most R&D personnel in the world.

According to China Securities Journal, at the intelligent theme press conference held on January 16, BYD Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu released BYD’s intelligent strategy and said that BYD will invest 100 billion yuan in the field of intelligence in the future.

Wang Chuanfu revealed that in 2024, BYD will launch more than 10 high-level smart drive models equipped with laser radars. In the future, BYD’s high-level smart drive system will be made optional to cars priced at 200,000 yuan or above, and standard to cars priced at 300,000 yuan or above.

According to BYD’s official WeChat account, BYD sold a total of 3,024,417 units in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 61.9%, not only winning the annual sales crown of China’s auto industry, but also the global new energy vehicle sales crown, handing in a full score for the development of the new energy vehicle industry. The total export volume in 2023 was 242,765 units, a year-on-year increase of 334.2%. At present, BYD’s new energy footprint has covered more than 70 countries and regions in six continents, and more than 400 cities.
