1. Nvidia Q3 earnings beating expectations

Nvidia reported revenue of $18.1 billion in Q3 2023, up 206% year-over-year, far exceeding analyst expectations of $16.1 billion. Gross margin was 75%, up 18.9 percentage points year-over-year.

Nvidia's data center revenue was $14.5 billion, up 279% year-over-year. It was driven by strong demand for its HGX platform. 

2. OpenAI board reportedly in talks with Altman to return

According to a report by The Information, OpenAI co-founder and former CEO Sam Altman and board members have begun discussions about the possibility of Altman returning to OpenAI. Sources say Altman is at least in talks with board member Adam D'Angelo, and the discussions are taking place privately, so they may not lead to a deal.

The talks are also reportedly involving some of OpenAI's investors, who are also pushing for Altman's reinstatement. Forbes also reported that Microsoft is offering $10 million bonuses to each of the 770 employees who have left OpenAI. This offer far exceeds the bids of any of OpenAI's competitors who are trying to poach employees.

3. Apple CEO Cook: successor will come from within the company

Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a podcast this week that he has decided to find his successor from within the company and is currently working to present several options to the board. Cook said he is currently developing multiple succession plans. He said: "We have a very detailed succession plan. Because some unpredictable things always happen, I might make a mistake tomorrow. Of course, I still hope this won't happen."

4. Li Auto is building a team in Singapore to develop SiC power chips

According to media reports, Li Auto is currently building a team in Singapore to develop SiC power chips. Five Singapore job openings recently posted by Lucid on the career app LinkedIn include: general manager, SiC power module failure analysis/physical analysis expert, SiC power module design expert, SiC power module process expert, and SiC power module electrical design expert.

5. Tesla FSD is about to land in China soon: owner's manual has updated function introduction

Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature is expected to launch in China soon, according to industry insiders. The feature has already been added to the owner's manual on Tesla's China website. The manual includes descriptions of FSD's features, such as the ability to navigate through intersections, make left and right turns, and drive through roundabouts.

6.AI Company AI21 Closes $208 Million Series C Funding Round

Israeli artificial intelligence startup AI21 Labs announced on Tuesday that it has closed a $208 million Series C funding round. The round was led by Intel Capital and Comcast Ventures, with participation from previous investors Google and Nvidia. The funding will be used to accelerate AI21's research and development and to expand its sales.
