On the May 9, LinkedIn, the Microsoft-owned platform for jobseekers and recruiters, officially announced its decision to adjust its business strategy in China, focusing its strategic efforts on helping Chinese companies recruit talent, brand marketing, and skills training overseas.

While continuing to expand its talent, marketing, and learning solutions business, LinkedIn's localized job search platform in China, "LinkedIn China," will officially stop its service on August 9, 2023.

LinkedIn stated that over the past few years, its commercial business in the Chinese market has achieved tremendous success. In the future, LinkedIn will help Chinese companies find and hire international talent overseas, improve talent skills, help Chinese companies build international brands for their products and services, and expand overseas markets.

"LinkedIn will continue to deepen its presence in the Chinese market, supporting the global development of Chinese companies through LinkedIn's talent and marketing solutions, as well as LinkedIn's learning solutions, which will be launched in mainland China later this year," the Company noted.

The news is a surprise to a lot of people. LinkedIn China is a localized job search app for LinkedIn in China, which has only been online for 146 days.

Regarding the decision to stop the service, LinkedIn explained that "LinkedIn China" has always faced increasingly fierce market competition and challenges brought about by the macroeconomic environment, which ultimately led to our decision to stop the service. Due to this change, the size of the Chinese team will also be reduced.
