March 1 (NBD) -- The 27th Line Maintenance and Material Support Conference was held in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province in China on Wednesday, bringing together over 400 people from government agencies, customs, the aircraft maintenance sector, and airliners.

During the Conference, various professional equipment for aviation maintenance, such as oil spectrum analyzer, three-dimensional scanning and measuring endoscope, hole detector, ultrasonic leak detector, and aviation comprehensive tester, have been introduced.

The aviation industry is recovering from the pandemic and Lufthansa Technology has resumed normal operation. It is considering re-deploying in China and the Asia-Pacific region, revealed Wang Xin, the Chief Representative of Lufthansa Technology China, adding Chengdu will be one of the top choices.

Wang mentioned that Lufthansa Technology speaks highly of the Airbus full-lifecycle project in Shuangliu District, which will drive the platformization of the aviation industry chain and attract a large number of aviation enterprises from upstream and downstream. Among them, the aviation maintenance industry is an important link in the industry chain.

In terms of aviation maintenance industry infrastructure, the Shuangliu District has attracted 20 aviation maintenance enterprises so far. Chengdu Commercial Aviation Domestic Aircraft Maintenance Base, Ameco Chengdu Branch, and other maintenance enterprises are specialized in whole-machine maintenance, engine maintenance, accessories maintenance and customer modifications.

The Shuangliu District aims to become an international aviation gateway with annual passenger throughput reaching 40 million people, cargo airlines reaching 30, cargo throughput reaching 1 million tons, and the core aviation industry scale exceeding 200 billion yuan by 2027.

Jiang Shaoxin, an aviation industry expert, said that aircraft maintenance enterprises will benefit directly from the Airbus full life cycle project.

"The market has the final say. Where there is market, there is business," said Wang Xin.
