July 12 (NBD) -- China's new-energy vehicle (NEV) market kept growing in the first half of this year. 

Data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers show that NEV production grew 94.9 percent year over year to 413,000 units in the January-June period, and NEV sales soared 111.5 percent to 412,000 units. Both NEV production and sales are estimated to surpass 1 million units for the whole year of 2018. 

Of those, production of all-electric cars rose 79.0 percent from a year ago to 314,000 units while sales surged 96.0 percent to 313,000 units.
