Mar. 28 (NBD) -- Ye Guofu, co-founder of Japanese fast fashion designer brand MINISO, was reported to have posted a moment on WeChat saying that the company has already registered with China's Trademark Office the trademark "NOME", which is the same as the Swedish independent designers & members brand NOME.

Established in early 2017, the designer brand NOME primarily sells household products, clothing, furniture and other products. Its design headquarters was set in Sweden while its operational headquarters is in Guangzhou. In the offline retail industry, NOME is still a new player.

In response to Ye's statement, NOME on Monday held a press conference in Beijing saying that the owner of nome.cn completed its registration in May 2017.

The company's founder Chen Hao claimed that NOME and MINISO adopt completely different business modes, and they have nothing to do with each other. What MINISO had done was a malicious theft of NOME's creative ideas, and NOME will take legal measures to safeguard its interests, he added.

MINISO hasn't responded to NOME's statement yet.

NBD has tried every possible means to contact MINISO's Ye Guofu and PR director, but all in vain.
