China and South Korea are neighbors sharing a familiar culture, geological accessibility and economic interdependence. In the first nine months of 2017, South Korea's exports to China totaled 101.67 billion U.S. dollars, equivalent to 23.6 percent of South Korea's total exports, making China its largest export market.

As mainstream media in their respective country, China's National Business Daily and South Korea's Maeil Business Newspaper have forged deep cooperation with each other, making great contributions to the exchanges in economy, trade and culture between China and South Korea.

In May 2015, the two media co-hosted 2015 World Knowledge Forum & China-South Korea Entrepreneur Summit in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province.

Leaders and politicians, over 500 business tycoons, economists as well as celebrities of China and South Korea gathered together at the forum to explore the new cooperative opportunities and potentials between those two countries.

The event has promoted the economic and cultural communication between the two countries.

Samsung, as a local sponsor of the torch relay, has made great efforts to this event. Yan Yuhong, a Chinese boy who suffered polio and had to walk on hands, was aided by Samsung since 2014. On Monday, he was invited to be a torchbearer in Pohang Homigot and he was warmly welcomed.
