Traditional folk performances were held in Chengdu’s Wenjiang district on Feb 11 to celebrate the Lantern Festival.

The festival, which fell on Feb 11 this year, marked the final day of the Chinese Lunar New Year.

Held at Floraland (Guose Tianxiang in Chinese) Luhu Lake Lawn in Wenjiang, the performances were part of the district’s series of folk celebrations to welcome the spring, according to an official from the Wenjiang administration of culture, radio, film and tv.

A series of activities, such as traditional opera performances, photographic exhibitions and calligraphy exhibitions, were also held to celebrate the Lantern Festival and the start of spring.
