CHENGDU, Feb. 14 (NBD) -- China's Ten-Thousand Talents Program has begun this year's selection of master teachers, according to a circular jointly issued by The Ministry of Education and General Office of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. 

The ten-year program was launched to foster brilliant minds in areas like natural science, engineering technology, and philosophy sociology.

Two hundred famous teachers will be selected this time, with teachers from institutions of higher learning like higher vocational schools to account for 60 percent. 

Finalists each will be offered 500,000 yuan (about 72,668 US dollars) to conduct researches, train talents, and build teams. They, moreover, are expected to get financial support from local governments and units where they are working for.
