CHENGDU, Feb.10 (NBD) -- Beijing's consumer market is going digital after a series of incentive policies are carried out.

According to the statics provided by Statistics Bureau of Beijing, retail sales of commodities of Beijing in 2016 totaled 1,100.51 billion yuan (159.91 billion US dollars). So far, it has been China's largest urban consumer market for 9 years.

Pang Jiangqian, vice chairman of Statistic Bureau of Beijing, said that online sales contributed significantly to the total. In 2016, retail sales of wholesale and retail enterprises above designated size in Beijing reached 204.9 billion yuan, up 20 percent year on year, boosting commodity consumption in Beijing by 3.3 percentage points.
