CHENGDU, Feb. 8 (NBD) -- Green subsidies will likely shift from new-energy vehicle (NEV) purchases to charging facilities.
New policies are currently in the making to expedite the building of charging infrastructure at residential areas, especially private parking lots of enterprises and governments.
The industry will be encouraged to come up with reasonable and innovative business models.
Wu Haibin, analyst with HuaAn Securities Co. Ltd., said that breakthroughs of profit models and subsidy policies will give a strong boost to the charging market, and that the construction of charging facilities will experience structural acceleration this year.
Data shows that China plans to build 800,000 new charging pillars - 700,000 private ones and 100,000 public ones - in 2017.
