
CHENGDU, Feb. 7 (NBD) -- Figures showed eye-catching rebound for shops and restaurants across China during the Spring Festival holiday from Jan. 27 to Feb. 2.
According to data released by Chinese Ministry of Commerce, sales in China's catering and retailing sectors reached 840 billion yuan (122 billion US dollars), up 11.4 percent year on year.
Several reserach reports published by different Chinese securities dealers said "final consumption continues rebounding and remains improvement trending". GF Securities pointed out the growth in China's midwest region performed faster, and consumption is revived in the developed region.
Hong Tao, chief retailing analyst of GF Securites, said that the department stores including those listed are under transformation, therefore, stocks may benifit from the inflection point when new business taves over the old.
