CHENGDU, Jan 12 (NBD) -- Sichuan government recently issued the plan for the innovation, reform and development of industrial parks.

According to the plan, the number of industrial parks whose revenue surpasses 200 billion yuan (29 billion US dollars) will reach three by 2020. The concept of technological innovation and low-carbon development will be emphasized.

Over past few years, West China has been rising as a new force in China's economic expansion, technological innovation being the new growth engine. Industrial parks in Sichuan obtained over 21,000 patents and achieved a sales revenue of hi-tech products over 480 billion yuan (69 billion US dollars). Distinctive and influential industrial parks were built, covering electronic information, digital audio-visual, equipment manufacturing, biological medicine and other industries.
