CHENGDU, Jan. 11 (NBD) -- China's automobile giant Changan will spend 3.948 billion yuan (570.52 million US dollars, inclusive of 230 million US dollars foreign exchange) on its engine production capacity project for model H and NE1, according to the company's resolution.

A company employee of board secretary's office said to NBD that the investment is in accordance with its automobile capacity in the future. Changan's optimistic yet cautious planning, for its capacity in years to come, is based on judgments of the industry, which excludes radical expansion.

An insider of auto industry pointed out that the company's sales of some models declined on a year-on-year basis, in spite of its total sales exceeded 3 million in 2016.
