CHENGDU, Jan. 3 (NBD) -- The handling capacity of Qingdao Port in 2016 hit 500.36 million tons for the first time, up 3.3% year on year, according to reports.
As the second largest port in China's foreign trade, Qingdao Port ranks 7th globally and sustains a double-digit growth for 3 consecutive year in terms of operation performance.
According to Xinhua reports, over the recent several years, Qingdao Port saved over 5 million yuan (0.72 million US dollars) through optimizing process, enhance cost control, innovating outsourcing and controlling.
In 2016, overall labor productivity of Qingdao Port increased by 18%, profit created per capita was up 19% year on year and labor cost-profit ratio grew by 7% year on year.
