CHENGDU, Dec. 30 (NBD) -- The number of currencies in the China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS) currency basket for calculating the yuan's performance will be increased from 13 to 24 starting January 1, 2017.

The foreign exchange trading platform operator announced the change on Thursday. 

It said that it would adjust the composition and weighting of its currency basket annually.
