On April 27th, Wang Haoyu, the Vice President of BYD’s Energy Storage and New Battery Business Division, stated at the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum annual meeting that BYD is more than an auto company. The majority of smart phones on the market, including those from Huawei and Xiaomi, are actually produced by BYD.

BYD also manufactures Apple's tablets, phones, and many electronic components. BYD is currently the largest electronics contract manufacturer in China.
