On March 28th, WeChat Pay HK, a subsidiary of WeChat Pay, announced that its Hong Kong dollar wallet can now be used at millions of merchants across mainland China. For Hong Kong users who have completed real-name authentication, the single transaction limit has been raised to HKD 38,000, and the annual cumulative transaction limit has been increased to HKD 400,000. WeChat Pay HK aims to become the preferred payment tool for Hong Kong residents when traveling to the mainland.
