In February 2024, following the approval of 32 imported online games at the beginning of the month, over 100 domestic games have also received official licenses in China.

On February 27, the National Press and Publication Administration announced that a total of 111 domestic games were granted licenses in February. This marks the third consecutive month where the number of approved game licenses has exceeded 100.

Among the approved titles are highly anticipated games such as “Black Myth: Wukong” and “Infinity Nikki.” The news quickly trended on social media platforms, with hashtags like #BlackMythWukongApproved and #InfiniteWarmthApproved. Many netizens expressed excitement, commenting, “Finally, it’s here!” and discussing the possibility of these games achieving a 3A rating.

“Black Myth: Wukong” has long been regarded as a shining example of a domestic 3A game. Publicly available information reveals that this game is an action role-playing game in the backdrop of Chinese mythology, drawing inspiration from one of the “Four Great Classical Novels”: “Journey to the West.” It is scheduled for release on August 20, 2024.

The game’s developer is Game Science, and the parent company behind it is Game Science Interactive Technology. According to business data from Qichacha, the company was established in 2014, with its largest shareholder being Feng Ji (holding a 38.76% stake). Additionally, a subsidiary of Tencent holds a 5% stake in the company.
