Kweichow Moutai and Luckin Coffee announced on January 19 that they will partner again to launch a new chocolate drink with alcohol, which will be available on January 22.
A Luckin Coffee employee told NBD that the new drink will have more ingredients than the previous Moutai Latte, but he declined to provide specific details.
The employee also said that the new drink will be priced similarly to the Moutai Latte, and that there will be discounts. The employee also said that there will be sufficient supply of ingredients and the drink will not be out of stock.
In September 2023, Moutai and Luckin Coffee for the first time partnered to launch the Moutai Latte, with retail price of 38 yuan (about $5.60) per cup. With coupons, the drink was available for about 19 yuan (about $2.80) per cup. The drink was made with white liquor-flavored milk. Official data showed that the Moutai Latte sold over 5.42 million cups on its first day of availability, generating over 100 million yuan in sales, breaking Luckin Coffee's single-product sales record. Two months later, the companies announced the launch of the Moutai Latte Red Cup.
