June 8 (NBD) -- Wang Yongsheng, chairman of Duzhe Publishing & Media Group ("Duzhe Group"), Tuesday was taken away for investigation, according to Caixin.

He also serves as chairman and general manager of Duzhe Publishing & Media Co., Ltd. ("Duzhe Publishing & Media", 603999.SH), the publisher of China's most popular magazine The Duzhe (Readers), which is known as the Chinese version of Reader's Digest and once created a monthly circulation of more than 10 million copies at its heyday.

The probe into the 56-year-old man is probably related to the case of Wang Sanyun, former chief of the Gansu provincial committee of the Communist Party of China and senior national legislator, who had been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office for actions including accepting bribes, the news portal reported based on information from several sources.

NBD noticed Wang made his last public appearance at a meeting of Duzhe Group on May 24.

Duzhe Publishing & Media hasn't made any announcement related to the incident as of the press time.
