Warner Bros has announced that it will work with Youzu Interactive, a Shanghai-based entertainment company specializing in game development and distribution, to develop a new mobile game based on the popular TV series " Game of Thrones".

Founded in 2009, Youzu Interactive has produced popular games including League of Angels, Knight's Fable and Magerealm, which were published in multiple languages with hundreds of millions of fans globally.

Youzu's Chief Game Producer Cui Rong commented at the Youzu-Warner Strategic Cooperation News Conference that after authorized with the "Game of Thrones" IP, (Youzu and Warner) are to restore the original stories and characters, centering on the breathtaking batters of nine families in Westeros for the Iron Throne.

"Game of Thrones", a TV series adapted from "A Song of Ice and Fire" by the American novelist and screenwriter George R. R. Martin, has won big applauses around the globe since its debut in 2011. According to data compiled by Warner Bros, each episode of the sixth season of "Game of Thrones" received 23.3 million views on average, which makes it the most watched show in the Home Box Office history.

Chen Libiao, Chief Operating Officer of Youzu, said that the "Game of Thrones" tells a thrilling story and depicts vivid characters, which have won the heart of fans. Such super IP can be transformed into a great mobile game.

Steven Chiang, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Production and Studios at Warner Bros, indicated that the Chinese gaming market has stood out as the largest one across the world and the quality of China's domestic games has been improving. He added that the world's top IPs need Chinese market to power growth and the global gaming market needs Chinese developers as well.
