The Global Foundries wafer fab located in Chengdu West Hi-Tech Zone is now under construction and will be finished before March next year. The earthwork and more than 50% of pile foundation of the fab have been completed on Tuesday. 

This wafer fab code-named "Fab11" is the first 12-inch wafer production line in Southwest China and will be one of the fabs with highest standards and largest volume.

According to Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone, the Global Foundries Chengdu Project fills the gap in the 12-Inch wafer production field in Southwest China. Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone will spare no efforts to accelerate the construction of Fab11 to make the city a well-known IC industrial base.
