41 containers carrying Geely automobile parts were sent Wednesday onboard China Railway Express from Chengdu, capital city of Southwest China's Sichuan Province, to Belarus' capital Minsk.
The train chartered by Geely Holding Group will expectedly arrive at its destination in 12 days since departure and marks the debut trip of a north route by China Railway Express from Chengdu to Europe.
Fan Jun, Chairman of Chengdu International Railway Service Co Ltd, said routine train service for two-way operation, of the north route, is expectedly available by the end of March this year. Some 150 runs of north route are scheduled in 2017.
The newly expanded route will better logistics efficiency, saving costs for transport, and contribute to Chengdu efforts as a global logistics hub.
The north route of China Railway Express runs through countries including Russia, Belarus, and Lithuania. New route from Chengdu through Central Asia to Turkey is planned this year.
