CHENGDU, March 1 (NBD) -- Chengdu tribunal for intellectual property commenced operation Tuesday, in Tianfu New Area, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, with a series of activities being scheduled on this opening day for public. 

Chengdu tribunal for intellectual property settles cases of three certain categories. They include civil and administrative cases in first instance, related to patent matters, integrated circuit layout-design, commercial secrets, affirmation of well-known trademarks and others, within area under Sichuan Province jurisdiction; civil and administrative cases in first instance, related to disputes on trademarks, copyright, illicit competition and contracts for technology, within area under Chengdu Municipal jurisdiction; appeals against verdict of civil, administrative and criminal cases on intellectual property by local people's court, within area under Chengdu Municipal jurisdiction. 

The tribunal has, since establishment in January 2017, accepted more than 600 cases.
