CHENGDU, Feb. 15 (NBD) -- Chengdu updated its award scheme for science and technology achivements, with bonus up to 1 million yuan (145,705 US dollars) for excellent scientific and technological contributions, according to Chengdu Science and Technology Bureau Tuesday. 

Amendments have been made over previous award plan for scientific and technological contributions, by Chengdu Science and Technology Bureau and Chengdu Municipal Legislative Affairs Office, in order to deepen implementation of innovation-driven development strategy and create a sound environment that pays due respects to knowledge, talents and innovation. 

Eight prizes under three categories have been established, marking Chengdu in national front of a comprehensive award system and bonus amount for science and technology.
