CHENGDU, Feb. 8 (NBD) -- Great Wall Motor Company generated net profits of 10.5 billion yuan (1.5 billion US dollars) in 2016, up 30.87 percent over the previous year, according to the company's fiscal report released Monday.

Revenue was 98.6 billion yuan (14.3 billion US dollars), representing a year-over-year increase of 29.7 percent.

The automaker's remarkable performance can be largely attributed to booming sales of its vehicles, especially pricy SUVs.

Data shows that the company delivered 1,074,500 vehicles over the whole course of 2016, a rise of 26.01 percent as compared to the 2015 level. This marks the first time that the carmaker has crossed the 1-million-unit sales mark.
