CHENGDU, Jan. 25 (NBD) -- The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently issued the guiding opinions on further improving informatization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), aiming to boost the firms' informatization and intellectual transformation and reducing their costs of information application.

The authority expects to nurture a batch of SMEs that can efficiently leverage information technologies and feature standard operation and management and strong competitive edge by 2020.

According to the regulation, SMEs will be urged to increase the adoption of new-generation information technologies like cloud computing, big data, and Internet of Things in key business processes, such as R&D, manufacturing, operation and management, and marketing.

With the aid of the Internet-based industrial ecosystem, they will play a bigger part in the cooperation with large enterprises in coordinated innovation and manufacturing.
