CHENGDU, Jan. 20 (NBD) -- The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has entrusted the SAE-China with the top design for smart cars, in an effort to boost the development of smart cars.
The SAE-China released a technology roadmap for energy-saving and new-energy vehicles in October 2016 discussing technical architecture for smart, connected cars.
According to the plan, China will work on core technologies such as in-vehicle vision system, in-vehicle radar wave, HAD map, and network safety system.
Autonomous driving is expected to be available commercially in China by 2025.
