CHENGDU, Jan. 10 (NBD) -- Scheduled in March 2017, Chengdu WCH&WNH Marathon (Marathon) is to bring 30 thousand running-enthusiasts to the scene, where Jonathan from US currently residing in Southwest China's Chengdu will be one of them.

The Marathon, of which the circuit spans over scenic spots of world cultural heritage and world natural heritage, is made with the notion to integrate physical exercise, culture and tourism. The grand event attracts large numbers of runners from home and abroad.

Being a sports fan, Jonathan is keen on running, bicycling and swimming. He resolutely decided on Monday to participate in the coming Marathon function, upon invitation from the organizer. He said, "I'll definitely get prepared before the Marathon. It's even better, for runners for the first time, to start preparation exercise 6 month before the event."

Jonathan, who first came to Chengdu in January 1998, has been a resident in this city for 19 years and is widely known as "Jiang Nan", his Chinese name, in the city. He becomes familiar to Chengdu people owing to his TV shows where he reveals a good command of Chengdu dialect. His passion for Sichuan cuisine has contributed to the setting up of his own hot-pot restaurant here, which he intends to introduce to Seattle, US.
