CHENGDU, Jan. 10 (NBD) -- Despite sluggish demand of international market, Tianjin's technology export increased in 2016.

Last year, contracts of technology import and export in Tianjin amounted to 1.327 billion US dollars. Registered contracts of technology exports reached 661 with a total value of 475 million US dollars, up 38.82% year on year.

According to information from the international service and trade division of Tianjin Commerce Commission, licensing or transferring of proprietary technology is Tianjin's major way of technology import. Such contracts of technology license and transfer worth 305 million US dollars, accounting for 68.02% of total technology import.
