CHENGDU, Jan. 9 (NBD) -- Ethiopian Airlines, based in east African Ethiopia, said on Saturday that the company is to start non-stop flights from Addis Ababa to Southwest China's Chengdu as of June 3, 2017. 

The new flight from Chengdu is scheduled three times per week and a single way takes around 10 hours. 

This move marks the first direct line connecting Chengdu with Africa.
