CHENGDU, Dec. 28 (NBD) -- The State Council recently released the 13th five-year plan for national informatization. 

The document defines six major directions: pushing innovation-driven development, promoting balanced and coordinated development, boosting green growth, accelerating opening-up and cooperation, driving joint construction and sharing, and preventing safety risks. 

Twelve priority actions are also specified, including the forward-looking deployment of new-generation information network technologies, construction and application of the BeiDou system, application infrastructure construction, sharing and openness of data resources, Internet plus government services, informatization of the "Teach for China" project, online poverty alleviation, construction of new types of smart cities, building of online Silk Road, prosperity of network culture, inclusive online education, and "Healthy China" information services.
