CHENGDU, Dec.27 (NBD) -- Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) introduced on Monday a technology that transforms chemical energy of coal directly into hydrogen energy. The skill is expected to alleviate smog pollution, a hotspot as it is now.

The technology in application will eradicate the forming and emission of gaseous pollutant such as sulfide, nitride and PM2.5 dusts. It is considered to be of revolutionary significance in coal energy sector. 

XJTU traded on Monday the intellectual property and relevant technology, for 150 million yuan (about 21.74 million U.S. dollars), with investment companies in order to press forward the industrialization of the skill.
