CHENGDU Dec.19 (NBD) -- Located in Jincheng Plaza of Chengdu High-tech Industrial Development Zone, the P+R underground parking lot project was unveiled earlier this month. P+R stands for "park and ride" and P+R parking lot enables citizens to park their vehicles there and shift with other modes of transportations like metro and bus to destinations.

Estimated to be completed by next December, the project is worth about 2.3 billion yuan (about 333.33 million U.S. dollars) and consists of 7 major blocks including an underground parking lot, an urban aviation service center (known as "city terminal"), a public bus terminal and an overground ecological park. 

To make daily transportation much easier, the P+R project is to connect with Chengdu Metro Line 1, Line 11, Line 18 and Line 29. People can park vehicles there and transfer to any side of this city by public transportation. 

An aviation service center of 4,600 square meters is scheduled in the project also. It's expected to offer convenience to flights takers who can first get the boarding passes and check in luggage within the area and then head to Chengdu Tianfu International Airport by Metro Line 18.
