CHENGDU, Dec. 14 (NBD) -- "2016 China Top E-sports Tournament" is to be held in Nanshan, Shenzhen on coming Friday to Sunday.
Five e-sports programs set up, in total, prize of 4 million yuan (about 580,000 US dollars), attracting 65 top players from home and abroad.
This event is hosted by the Sports Information Center of General Administration of Sport of China. Players will compete in programs including Dota 2, Warcraft 3, CS:GO, Hearth Stone and Clash Royale 5.
The competition will be broadcast to 27 countries and regions, cover a population of 1.7 billion, and expect an audience of 300 million.
It is reported that China, with a market scale of 27 billion yuan (about 3.9 billion US dollars), surpassed the United States to become the world's largest e-sports market in 2015.
Now the global e-sports players exceeds 300 million, with 130 million Chinese players. China's future e-sports market size is estimated to cap 50 billion yuan (about 7.2 billion US dollars).
