Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng Motors on Friday responded to complaints from hundreds of P5 owners that the company's city NGP (Navigation Guided Pilot) feature is not available in their regions.

In a statement, Xpeng said that the city NGP function is currently not available due to lengthy data collection, mapping, verification, and testing procedures. The company also said that it is required to obtain regulatory approval for city mapping data, which can be a time-consuming process.

Currently, the city NGP feature is only launched in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Foshan.

To address the concerns of P5 owners who are unable to use the city NGP feature, Xpeng is offering a 2,000 voucher for the company's XPILOT 3.5 smart driver assistance software. The voucher is available to P5 P-version owners who have already received the XPILOT 3.5 software as of November 3, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. China time.
