Chengdu is hosting the 31st World University Summer Games, a spectacular sports event that showcases the talents of university athletes from different countries. Xinhua News Agency reporters spoke to some of the participants, who praised Chengdu’s efforts to create a “green, smart, vibrant, and shared” experience that left a lasting impression on them.

Victor from Hungary:
The organizing committee did a really good job, making sure that the event is going smoothly. The city is beautiful because it's very up to date to modern standards, seeing a lot of green, both on the bridges, both on the sidewalks, on the streets.

The energy is crazy. So many fans, it's nice to have fans watching us. Everyone is so nice. They always come up to us and say hi. Being in China is actually so amazing. I'm excited and like to take a few days to go around.

The atmosphere here, the all the athletes from different sports. I love it here. It's one of the greatest events I've ever been to.
