The China Development Bank saw its outstanding yuan loans increase by 650 billion yuan (about 102.2 billion U.S. dollars) in 2021 amid efforts to support fundamental area development and shore up weak links.

In 2021, the lender issued a total of 2.99 trillion yuan of loans, of which 1.76 trillion yuan flowed to areas including new infrastructure, major transportation and water conservancy projects, aiming to spur investment.

Around 492 billion yuan of loans were issued for advanced manufacturing and strategic emerging industries during the last year.

Green loans amounted to 566.3 billion yuan in 2021 and registered high growth among all types of loans, said the policy bank.
