Romantic fantasy "The End of Endless Love" on Wednesday topped the Chinese box office chart for its fifth consecutive day, raking in a total of more than 200 million yuan (about 30.58 million U.S. dollars), according to data compiled by the China Movie Data Information Network.

With a young and popular cast, and with popular Chinese romance author Guo Jingming as a screenwriter, the film saw daily ticket sales hit 13.3 million yuan on Wednesday.

Historical fantasy comedy "Soul Snatcher" and crime thriller "Caught in Time" respectively ranked second and third on the daily box office chart, grossing about 6.88 million yuan and 6.67 million yuan.

Coming in fourth was U.S. animated comedy "The Croods: A New Age," which earned over 4.5 million yuan on Wednesday and has seen its total Chinese box office revenue reach approximately 255 million yuan.

China's total annual box office earnings have this year shattered their 17 billion yuan record.
