July 5 (NBD) -- Chinese home appliance maker Gree Electric Appliances, Inc. of Zhuhai (Gree, 000651.SZ) announced Thursday that the company has bought 43.32 million shares of Shanghai Highly (Group) Co., Ltd. (600619.SH) through auction trading during April 23 to July 4.

Gree now holds a 10 percent stake in the Shanghai-based company, up from previous 5 percent.
