May 7 (NBD) - Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd (000625.SZ) Wednesday explained reasons behind the declining performance of its proprietary brand business and Changan Ford, saying that some products are marching towards the end of their lifecycle, leading to a reduction in competitiveness and profitability.

However, the situation will be improved with the introduction of new products. In April, the all-new Ford Focus was released.

In other news, Changan Ford will be responsible for the localized production of luxury vehicles under the Lincoln brand in the future.
