According to Forestry Department of Sichuan Province, Sichuan, along with Shaanxi, Gansu and Hubei province, will conduct a research on the distribution and population of golden snub-nosed monkeys and threats for them. 

The research is planned to start in the second half of this year and be finished by the end of this year.

In Sichuan, Min Mountains and Qionglai Mountains are major living areas for snub-nosed monkeys.
