CHENGDU, Feb. 6 (NBD) -- Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone seized the third place in a ranking among national hi-tech zones in 2016, according to release on Sunday. 

Chengdu Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, located in the south of Sichuan's capital city, held its work conference for 2017 and announced the annual report of 2016, on Sunday. 

Endeavors have been made to establish this area as an international hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, and the area realized industrial added value of 143.65 billion yuan (20.94 billion US dollars) with an increase of 8.5%, in 2016, which accounts for 4.4% of Sichuan Province gross.
