CHENGDU, Jan. 18 (NBD) -- China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued the development plan for the software and information service industry (2016-2020) on Tuesday.

According to the plan, the business revenue of the software and information service industry will grow by an average annual rate of over 13% to hit 8 trillion yuan (1.2 trillion US dollars) by 2020. And the product sales will reach 200 billion yuan (29.2 billion US dollars) by 2020, with an average annual increase of over 20%.

MIIT plans to foster leading enterprises with global influences and competitive strength in the software and information service industry, and set up a basic industrial ecosystem of international competitiveness.
