CHENGDU, Jan. 13 (NBD) -- China's bioindustry market is expected to hit 8-10 trillion yuan (1.16-1.45 trillion US dollars) by 2020, accounting for more than four percent of GDP, according to the 13th five-year plan for the bioindustry development. 

The annual output value of the biomedical engineering industry is estimated to reach 600 billion yuan (87.07 billion US dollars) at that time. 

Moreover, a modern smart medical equipment product and service system based on information and biological technologies will be in initial shape by the end of the 13th five-year plan period.
