CHENGDU, Jan. 12 (NBD) -- Custom-made or fresh goods bought online cannot be refunded within seven days without giving any reason, according to a provisional regulation on online shopping released on Wednesday by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce of China.

The new rule expands the range of nonrefundable commodities from four to seven categories with the addition of products that change or undermine people's health once unpacked, products that will be largely devalued after activated or used, and products that the customer is aware will soon expire or are flawed.

Online sellers will face penalties if they refuse the customer's reasonable request for refund.
